Alpharetta’s Kobi Simmons signs with Cleveland Cavaliers, reports say

After getting waived by the Memphis Grizzlies, Kobi Simmons didn’t spend too much time on the NBA’s free agent market.
Two weeks later, the Alpharetta native has signed a one-year deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to a report from Shams Charania of The Athletic. Joe Vardon of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported that the Cavs signing Simmons is “likely.”
A 21-year-old, 6-foot-5 guard, Simmons signed with the Grizzlies last summer after he went unselected in the 2017 NBA Draft. Simmons spent just one season in college basketball, averaging 8.7 points and two assists per-game with the Arizona Wildcats.

The Grizzlies signed Simmons to a two-way contract, meaning he’d have to split his rookie year in professional basketball between the NBA and its minor league, the G-League. In 32 NBA games last season, Simmons averaged 6.1 points, 1.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists per-game. In the G-League, he posted per-game averages of 15.1 points, 2.7 rebounds and 3.8 assists.
Before going to Arizona and then the NBA, Simmons played at St. Francis High School. A 2016 graduate, he led the Knights to two state titles while accumulating 2,456 points, 520 assists and 225 steals. Simmons’ No. 2 jersey was retired at St. Francis this past summer.
After going to four straight NBA Finals, the Cavaliers are in a bit of a rebuilding stage after homegrown star LeBron James signed with the Los Angeles Lakers this offseason. However, the Cavs retained the services of all-star forward Kevin Love and also drafted Collin Sexton, a dynamic 19-year-old guard from Marietta.

Simmons, Sexton and the Cavs will visit the Atlanta Hawks for a game on Dec. 29 at 7:30 p.m.

Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United | Chelsea Beat Man United To Win The FA Cu...

Chelsea 1 Manchester United 0 RECAP as Eden Hazard wins FA Cup for Blues at Wembley The Belgian was hauled down by Phil Jones and picked himself up to convert the penalty in what could be Antonio Conte's final match in charge Eden Hazard fired  Chelsea  to FA Cup glory against  Manchester United  as Antonio Conte's expected farewell ended with a memorable triumph against old foe Jose Mourinho. The 137th FA Cup final - and first utilising a video assistant referee - was not as cagey as some had feared but was hardly a rip-roaring affair as the Blues looked to atone for last season's shock finale defeat and a tepid Premier League title defence. Mourinho came into the match looking to frustrate his former club and write his name into the record books, but Conte - subject of so much speculation regarding his future - emerged triumphant as Hazard's first-half penalty secured a 1-0 win at Wembley. Many had fancied United to win a record-equalling 1...

Disney World Is Now Serving Alcohol at Every Sit-Down Restaurant in the Magic Kingdom

Disney World Is Now Serving Alcohol at Every Sit-Down Restaurant in the Magic Kingdom Walt Disney World  guests have been drinking their way through the  World Showcase pavilions at Epcot  for years, and now they have more opportunities to sip on adult beverages at the Magic Kingdom, too. According to a  Disney press release , three new restaurants inside the resort’s original park have added alcohol to their menus, meaning that those over the age of 21 can now drink at  all  table-service establishments on the premises. This announcement comes six years after the first Magic Kingdom eatery to serve beer and wine, Be Our Guest, opened in 2012. Prior to that, the park had a strict no-alcohol policy since its opening in 1971 as part of Walt Disney’s original vision to create a family-friendly experience. The rule remains in place at the original Disneyland park in Anaheim, though its sister park Disney California Adventure does serve alcohol (as d...
